Benefits

AFAP is not just for Fertility Awareness Educators! We welcome members in several categories, including Ally, which is for anyone who loves Fertility Awareness and wants to make sure that highly qualified instruction is widely available. When you join, you not only support our vision, mission, and goals, you become part of a community. Together, we are advancing the credibility of Fertility Awareness Based Methods, supporting those who teach them, and helping those who practice them, now and in future.

Benefits

Available to all members
Participate in (virtual) educational events, such as professional development workshops and presentations on specific topics of interest by fellow members and by outside speakers. This is also a perfect environment in which to gain practice, if you are new to presenting and want to hone your skills before an extremely friendly, supportive audience. In the future, we hope to develop some CEUs (continuing education units, needed in many professions for upkeep of licensure).
Attend (virtual) AFAP meetings, which provide an opportunity to meet fellow members and participate in discussions about the work of the organization.
Be part of the listserv (our online discussion group).
Take part in committee work. Don’t make that face. Committee work is literally the engine that makes the organization run. Participation isn’t mandatory, but we do ask everyone to consider contributing at least 10 hours a year. It’s a terrific way to meet people in the field, and provides an opportunity to share your skills and also build new ones. And believe it or not, it can be fun.
For those who have met the certification requirements*
Be listed on the “find an educator” portion of our site.
Display the “AFAP certified” icon on one’s website and literature.

* These benefits extend to FAEs, FAE -Trainers, and FAE Students. Please visit our “join us” page for information on membership fees, membership categories, and the AFAP application form.

Note: AFAP is currently working to make our language trans and gender non-conforming inclusive in all of our print and online materials. We are being very thoughtful about this work and have not come to complete resolution about the specific approach we will take. This is why you will currently see some gendered and non-inclusive language on this website. Please know that AFAP certification has at its core a commitment to inclusion and to serving all people with respect and integrity.
